I also run an Apple USB SuperDrive from the Caldigit. 10 years old) 27" Apple Cinema Display via a Caldigit USB-C dock 206/17 vintage (now superseded). The MBP spends most of its time as a desktop computer linked to a fairly ancient (c. MBP Kernel panic I have a 2016 MacBook Pro 13" Thunderbolt 3 version running Catalina 10.15.7. I have attached the report from EtreCheck and appreciate any advice you may have. The computer was installed from scratch, I didn't start from backup, only files were transferred. The Mac is generally slow from time to time, it just seems to get bogged down. The computer hangs, where the mouse is visible, but nothing can be clicked or interacted with, a quick turn off and on of the Bluetooth mouse/keyboard usually rectifies this. The system crashed 99% of the time on restart - again EtreCheck says I have 38444 files pending in iCloud but I don't know how this can be, I bought the Mac the week it was launched so not sure how there can be any pending files. I am running an M1 Mac Mini, with 8GB of memory but am having some irritating problems with it, I'm a designer and use it primarily for Adobe, Figma, Internet browsing and listening to music, I also have an SSD attached to the device for the purpose of Time Machine.ĬleanMyMac is constantly telling me I am out of RAM, after running EtreCheck it seems this could be down to Figma, but I never had this problem on my previous Intel Macbook Pro M1 Mac Mini keeps crashing on restart & ram issues Hi So I'm stuck with this Etre Check report where I'm informed my system is under heavy I/O usage, the "Main" issue being the Kernel Panic where there are quite many lines in the report. When using FCPX, I usually move the library to the main drive because some of the plugins won't work otherwise, but that's got nothing to do with the restarts, it never happened when FCPX was active. For that I've connected (directly to the Mini) an external Sabrent SSD (up to 2500 mb/s) where I store everything. The internal SSD is used for apps and very little of storage. Dock has my second monitor connected, the main monitor is plugged directly through HDMI. I have an OWC Thunderbolt Dock (T4) connected to the computer, then a CalDigit Element4 plugged into the OWC. I'm also livestreaming but then I only have Ecamm active as well as maybe 2-3 tabs in Safari. I don't do this too often though, but the computer never crashed when it was pushed hard. The Swap Used can sometimes be 2-3 GB in those situations. One might think I've had too much opened but this is nothing, I sometimes do the research in Chrome, annotate in Notion, FCPX can be exporting, and I'm building scenes in Ecamm. This one can also sometimes use 1.5 GB of memory. I've had Google Chrome active with 16 regular tabs and 8 pinned tabs open, then ChronoSync was copying between two external large HD drives, Activity Monitor (mostly to see when Chrome goes wild and then I re-open it), and I was working in the Notion native app. My M1 MacMini 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD (Big Sur) "usually" restarts on it's own will when unattended or when idle, but today it just crashed out of the blue and restarted.
